Hotel Review, Paris
Paris Montmartre section offers the Basilica of Sacre Coeur |
I was staying in Paris in September and after a few days in Montmartre, (link) Hotel Review) I was ready for a suburban hotel that might offer some quiet work time (and better room rates) while still keeping me within a half hour of the center of Paris.

The Hotel Median Chatillon, six miles south of the Seine, offered a quiet, suburban location that is less than 15 minutes by Metro (link) to Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau Metro Station. Buses stop in front of the hotel to serve the Montrouge Metro Station where the number 13 Metro train line reaches Central Paris.
Montmartre is a lively place of outdoor cafes and shops
but after a few days I headed for a quieter suburb and found
the Median Chatillon Hotel
|
The rooms at the Hotel Median are spacious and modern and include a desk that is handy for writing and internet use. The bathrooms include a luxury for Paris, a bathtub shower combo in gleaming white porcelain.
Air conditioning, satellite TV, an elevator, good soundproofing, non smoking, and a helpful staff operating the front desk 24 hours made the Median Chatillon a true hotel value, a quiet place to work, but very near the center of Paris.

The hotel's restaurant offers a full breakfast buffet daily and a complete lunch and dinner menu.
The only downside was that the Wifi, although offering a strong signal, was available for a fee (17 Euros for 24 hours, booked with credit card).
Chatillon offers a variety of restaurants
including Chinese and Thai.

The price for my September visit at under $100 USD made this hotel a real value. The hotel accepts American Express and other cards. The child friendly, (children under two stay free) and pet-friendly, hotel's 80 rooms fill fast so book ahead.
